Star Versus 'Star'

The body of Major Manish Pitambare, who was shot dead at Anantnag,
was cremated with full military honours at Thane on Wednesday

On Tuesday a news swept across all the news channels 'Sanjay Datt
relieved by the court'. 'Sirf Munna Not a bhai' '13 saal ka vanvaas
khatam' 'alhough found guilty for possession of armory, Sanjay can
breath sigh of relief as all the TADA charges against him are
withdrawn'

And then many experts like Salman khan saying 'He is a good person.
We knew he will come out clean' Mr. Big B 'Datt family and our
family have relations for years he's a good kid. He is like elder
brother to abhishek'. His sister priya Datt 'we can sleep well
tonight…it's a great relief'

In other news, Parliament was mad at Indian team for
performing bad; Greg chapel said something …..; Bomb scare in
gorakhpoor express; and Shah Rukh Khan replaces Big B in KBC and
Sonia asked PM to consider reducing petroleum prices (I wonder who's
the PM …anyways that is not the topic so leave it…) But most of the
emphasis was given on Sanjay Datt's "phoenix like" comeback from the
ashes of terrorist charges.

Surfing through the channels, one news on BBC startled
me, it read, Hisbul Mujahidin's Most wanted terrorist 'Sohel Faisal'
killed in anantnag, India. Indian Major leading the operation lost
his life in the process. Four others are injured.

It was past midnight, I started visiting the Indian
channels, the ones who are 'Sabse TEZ', but Sanjubaba was still
ruling. They were telling How Sanjubaba pleaded to the court saying
'I am the sole bread earner for my family' 'I have a daughter who is
studying in US who will look after her'. And then they showed how
sanjubaba was not wearing his lucky blue shirt while he was hearing
the verdict. Also how he went to every temple and prayed for last
some months. A suspect in Mumbai bomb blasts, convicted under armory
act…..was being made into a hero.

Sure Sanjubaba has a daughter; sure sanjubaba did not do
any terrorist thing as in bombing some place or hijacking an
airplane etc. Possessing an AK47 is considered too elementary in
terrorist community and also one who possesses an AK47 has a right
to possess a pistol so that again is not such a big crime; Sure
sanjubaba went to all the temples; Sure he did a lot of gandhigiri
but then….., people… please read on…….

Major Manish H Pitambare got the information from his
sources about the terrorists' whereabouts. Wasting no time he
attacked the camp killed the Hisbul mujahidin's suprimo and in the
process lost his life….. To the bullets fired from an AK47……

He has a wife and a daughter (just like sanjubaba), age …..18 months.

Major Manish never said 'I have a daughter' …before he took the
decision to attack the terrorist hide out in the darkest of nights?

He never thought about having a family and he being the bread earner

No news channel covered this since they were too busy hyping a
former drug addict, an actor in real and reel life, a suspect who's
linked to bomb blasts which killed hundreds. Their aim was to show
how he defied the TADA charges and they were so successful that his
conviction in possession of armory had no meaning. They also
concluded that his parents in heaven must be happy and proud of
him……

Parents of Major Pitambare are still on this earth and
they have to live rest of their lives without their beloved son. His
daughter won't ever see her papa again.

Definition of a Star has changed Major… it really has.
So sanjubaba always has a gun in every one of his movies then in
real life if he has an AK47 then what's the big deal we are used to
see him with some ammunition without it he's just a 49yr old hero so
he did it for us…..so that we feel normal;

Even if one of the bullets from one of such AK47's took a Real
Star's life …….

but sir bole toh ….. tension nahi leneka. Aapun ko thoda bura
laga. Apun pure din aapke baarein mein socha. Sach bataun kya aapun
dukhi matlab ki senty ho gaya isliye ye likha.

Baaki sanjubaba…..bole toh… congrats…aapko salmaan bhai
ne kya certificate diya hai …ekdum raaapchik… kal jab unka case
(haan woich hiran ki shikar wala) aaye toh aap bhi aisaich bolna unke
baarein mein. Abhi aaj paper mein aaya ki woh parliament mein
'lagey raho munnabhai' dikhane wale ….us din dekhna bhai…… pure
parliament mein sab saarein sansad honge. koi walk out nahi karega
par bhai uska koi gurantee nahi hai kya pata …..agar hamare sansad
indian cricket team ke selection pe lad padein?..... . Kya bhaai
point hain naa ? AAre haan apun ko yaad aaya ….woh sansad pe hamla
karnewala koi afzal tha ….use abhi fasi hui …ya nahi hui …..jaane do
apun ko kya…… kuch log marein ….. sansad ko bachatein hue …but bhai
unki daughters toh india mein hich sikhti hain naa aapke jaise amerika
mein nahi toh tension nahi leneka………

Sorry major, wo kya hai naa logon ko shudh hindi samztich nahi
aajkal bole toh logon ka hriday parivartan hone ke liye aisahich
likhna padta hai. But major….. ab ye kaise hoga aaapun ko nahi pata
log boley saala lagey raho dekhke puri janta ab change hoegi koi
rastein mein nahi thukega ….. koi zhut nahi bolega koi kisi ko
pareshaan nahi karega desh mein gandhigiri aayegi…. par major apun
ko doubt hai….. pata hain kyon ?

….. rang de basanti aayi thi tab bhi log aisehich kuch toh bolein they…

Finally Sir, to my generation there is no greater hero than one who
laid his life in the name of this great nation. Hence Sir, I salute
you. You are the real Star, Vande mataram.

Are we Indians for or in against of terrorism??

This question crossed me today, or had been troubling me a lot for couple of days.

I was so happy that finally verdict has been given by Supreme Court of India, that Afzal responsible for carrying out terrorist attack near premises of Our Parliament, has been given a death sentence.
I was happy that finally law and order was capable of bringing culprit to justice.

It didn't took much long and political parties already stole my happiness regarding this.

I feel that India is really not against terrorism. How come political parties and govt. of India waste so much time on discussing whether Afzal needs to be punished or not. I wonder why is this happening. India is not yet developed country, there are so much responsible tasks to be finished first, but still those tasks never come in focus of the ruling party. It feels like that they had nothing better work to do and just need to bring up some silly issue for talk at coffee time.

Attack on the Parliament is a direct attack on the country. If the Afzal is given forgiveness, it will reflect that all the terrorist attacks that had happened on Indian soil can also get away.
No country in the world will forgive anyone for attack on their Parliament. Why aren't the people of India also united against Afzal being granted forgiveness??

I wish that if that attack on Parliament would have had seen some casualities in the political parties, then these parties would have had realised how dreadful attack it was. The brave heros who sacrificed their lives to defend and keep their ministers safe, did all this for waste.

How can one even think of forgiving Afzal? I really don't see a point.

All these people who are trying to get Afzal are really in the favour of terrorism in India. It doesn't matters to them what is the terrorist act like, where it was carried and who were all in danger. They just don't have enough brains to think deeper.

Attack on Parliament could have had led country into real political trouble, with all the ministers being killed in the attack. That was the motive of carrying out the terrorist attack, and if the govt. of India can't see this. I believe they are nothing more, than just a group of morons.

Forgiving a person responsible for carring out terrorist attack in the heart of the country and right under the nose of the govt. of India, would reflect that we are not united against terrorism in India. It would be a shame for us, and atleast I will feel really embarrased that we Indians haven't had enough guts and courage to stand up against terrorism. All the peace talks and war against terror talks made my govt. of India are nothing, they should mean nothing to the people of India also.

We would be kept on being attacked again and again, and I guess in these situations Gandhigiri is just a foolish thought. You don't need to be non-violent for this long that entire population of India vanishes. Its good that one starts with non-violence and peace loving ways of tackling the problem, but if that hasn't had helped at all its better to fight it with force. Or else are we Indians just impotent and eunuchs??

I wish and hope that Afzal is hanged till death. I would have had preferred hanging him right infront of the Parliament.

2nd October is Lal Bahadur Shastri Birthday and negligence of it

Continuing with my previous post Ironical 2nd October 2006, I started to think more deeply into the fact.

And to my mind very annoying and disgusting thoughts about govt. of India, mostly Congress. As Congress has ruled us for more than 50 years now.

Today is Lal Bahadur Shastri's Birthday on 2nd October. He was the PM of India. Revolutionised the indian Agriculture sector. Gave Jai Jawan, Jai Kissan.

Why there is no single talk about him on this day in media? Why no national daily has publication about him? Not a single advt space containing his photograph and details, so that people can remember him. Just because he was never so much into Congress.

For Nehru, we have Children's day. Is there something similar for our President Abdul Kalam?? Will there be one. I doubt. He is greatest president India has ever had. But since he wasn't the chosen one from Congress, they had there own candidate against him. Kalam won't find a similar mention in the books, media and recognition.

Now take for example, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. On his birthday and death anniversary there would be lots n lots of publications in newspapers, on TV. He was good, but can't be greater than Shastri.

Take another Gandhi from the family, Mr. Sanjay Gandhi. He is never talked about in media. No publications on him. No one tries to appreciate his deeds. He brought planned cities into the country. Noida is a work from him. Just because he was not at all Congress man.

Take Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He has endlessly given so much to the country. He revolutionised the entire indian Telecom sector. Gave quadralateral highways. Brought IT and business into main streamline of govt. Gave india Nuclear power status. What we see today is mostly what Vajpayee govt did. He showed that what all can be achieved by just putting acts together.
And we know there won't be no single promotion about his work. I guess now I don't need to mention the reasons.

The point is that, why only Congress family leaders get recognition. Get space in newspapers. Time on TV media. Congress ruled and kept everyone in the dark from starting, and has never tried and attempted to bring true historical facts infront.

There are many reasons, why people like me are not aware of the history other than Congress history. Not because I haven't attempted to learn history. Well I never attempted to learn history, but then Congress based history filled my childhood history books so much, that I only know of is theirs. And even now, when I forget something, I'm again reminded of the same history by media. Still there is no attempt to bring story and history of other gems of India.

I really wonder how Indian citizens could have been fooled for so long by just Gandhi family. Ofcourse Mahatma Gandhi doesn't belongs to this family. He would have never thought that something like this would be done by Congress. Congress used the name of Gandhi to capture votebank. As one scene in Lage Raho Munnabhai says that children of Mahatma Gandhi are Indira Gandhi and so on. That is mostly what goes to the very unaware society of india.

I believe its time now to wake up, and start getting our own facts clear. And try to impart the complete and true information to others. Else Congress will keep playing the same old game of theirs "To be in power, its best to keep society illiterate and unaware". Feels like that we indians have given ruling authority to just one family. We had already started to see that one day Rahul Gandhi will become PM.

Ironical 2nd October, 2006

India is celebrating 'Gandhigiri'. Word coined from latest bollywood Lage Raho Munnabhai. All over the media, tv channels and even on everybody's tongue is the word gandhigiri.

Wishing Happy Gandhigiri on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.
Mahatma Gandhi as all know was a peace and non-violence loving legend. He talked about using truth, non-violence as weapons to attain freedom, and to attain success.

On the other side, today is also the festival of Dussehra. The legend underlying the celebration, as also its mode of conduct, vary vastly by region; however, all festivities celebrate the victory of the forces of Good over Evil. It is also considered to be an auspicious day to begin new things in life.

Even in ancient times, as in Ramayana and Mahabharata, the ultimate win of good over evil was achieved by weapons. Weapons which were certainly not non-violence.

Isnt' it ironical that two extreme philosophies are celebrated today? What a coincidence!! This won't happen again in near future.

Maybe there is more philosophical context that God wants to send to us on this day.

That although we praise Gandhi for his non-violence movement. It should also be kept in mind that ultimate win of good over evil is achieved by force and weapons.

If Lord Rama and Lord Krishna weren't wise enough to use non-violence in those days. Certainly Bapu can't be wiser than them, and free India by using just non-violence.
We should give due to other freedom fighters also who have sacrificed their lives for freedom of India. No one celebrates and remember the b'day of Bhagat Singh, Bose and others. Why?? Why doesn't the govt. observes a single day devoted to these freedom fighters as national holiday. If govt. can't put national holidays for all these freedom fighters; atleast one day from history can be chosen for a national holiday dedicated to freedom fighters who used weapons and force to throw Brits out of the country. It can be anyday, day of jallianwalah bagh incident, day of first struggle of freedom fight and so on.

Gandhigiri is fine, but it shouldn't be over hyped. It has been already hyped so much by Congress party. Which used it to capture vote bank; and never truly understood the Gandhian concept.

Wishing you all a very Happy Dusshera (Happy Warriors Day); and Happy Gandhigiri.

Hope we are able to go into more deeper side of the irony of the day; and give due respect and regard for both gandhians and warriors.

Policy making

Put eight monkeys in a room. In the middle of the room is a ladder, leading to a bunch of bananas hanging from a hook on the ceiling. Each time a monkeytries to climb the ladder, all the other monkeys are sprayed with ice water, which makes them miserable. Soon enough, whenever a monkey attempts to climb the ladder, all of the other monkeys, not wanting to be sprayed, set upon him and beat him up. Soon, none of the eight monkeys ever attempts to climb the ladder.

One of the original monkeys is then removed, and a new monkey is put in the room. Seeing the bananas and the ladder, he wonders why none of the other monkeys are doing the obvious, but, undaunted, he immediately begins to climb the ladder. All the other monkeys fall upon him and beat him silly. He has noidea why. However, he no longer attempts to climb the ladder.

A second original monkey is removed and replaced. The newcomer again attempts to climb the ladder, but all the other monkeys hammer the crap out of him. This includes the previous new monkey, who, grateful that he's not on the receiving end this time, participates in the beating because all the other monkeys are doing it. However, he has no idea why he's attacking the new monkey.
One by one, all the original monkeys are replaced. Eight new monkeys are now in the room. None of them have ever been sprayed by ice water. None of themattempt to climb the ladder. All of them will enthusiastically beat up any new monkey who tries, without having any idea why."AND THAT'S HOW MANY COMPANY'S and COUNTRY POLICIES GET ESTABLISHED".

It is not important to make the right decision but it is important to make the decision right ...

Sir Ernest Rutherford, President of the Royal Academy, and recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics, related the following story:

"Some time ago I received a call from a colleague. He was about to give a student a zero for his answer to a physics question, while the student claimed a perfect score. The instructor and the student agreed to an impartial arbiter, and I was selected.

I read the examination question: "Show how it is possible to determine the height of a tall building with the aid of a barometer."

The student had answered: "Take the barometer to the top of the building, attach a long rope to it, lower it to the street, and then bring it up, measuring the length of the rope. The length of the rope is the height of the building."

The student really had a strong case for full credit since he had really answered the question completely and correctly! On the other hand, if full credit were given, it could well contribute to a high grade in his physics course and certify competence in physics, but the answer did not confirm this. I suggested that the student have another try. I gave the student six minutes to answer the question with the warning that the answer should show some knowledge of physics.

At the end of five minutes, he hadn't written anything. I asked if he wished to give up, but he said he had many answers to this problem; he was just thinking of the best one. I excused myself for interrupting him and asked him to please go on. In the next minute, he dashed off his answer, which read: "Take the barometer to the top of the building and lean over the edge of the roof. Drop the barometer, timing its fall with a stopwatch.

Then, using the formula x=0.5*a*t^2, calculate the height of the building."

At this point, I asked my colleague if he would give up. He conceded, and gave the student almost full credit. While leaving my colleague's office, I recalled that the student had said that he had other answers to the problem, so I asked him what they were.

"Well," said the student, "there are many ways of getting the height of a tall building with the aid of a barometer. For example, you could take the barometer out on a sunny day and measure the height of the barometer, the length of its shadow, and the length of the shadow of the building, and by the use of simple proportion, determine the height of the building."

"Fine," I said, "and others?"

"Yes," said the student, "there is a very basic measurement method you will like. In this method, you take the barometer and begin to walk up the stairs. As you climb the stairs, you mark off the length of the barometer along the wall. You then count the number of marks, and his will give you the height of the building in barometer units."

"A very direct method."

"Of course. If you want a more sophisticated method, you can tie the barometer to the end of a string, swing it as a pendulum, and determine the value of g [gravity] at the street level and at the top of the building.

From the difference between the two values of g, the height of the building, in principle, can be calculated."

"On this same tack, you could take the barometer to the top of the building, attach a long rope to it, lower it to just above the street, and then swing it as a pendulum. You could then calculate the height of the building by the period of the precession".

"Finally," he concluded, "there are many other ways of solving the problem."

"Probably the best," he said, "is to take the barometer to the basement and knock on the superintendent's door. When the superintendent answers, you speak to him as follows: 'Mr. Superintendent, here is a fine barometer. If you will tell me the height of the building, I will give you this barometer."

At this point, I asked the student if he really did not know the conventional answer to this question. He admitted that he did, but said that he was fed up with high school and college instructors trying to teach him how to think.

The name of the student was.

Ekla Chalo re 'Walk Alone'

Oh, what an inspiring words from our Nobel laureate Guru Rabindranath Tagoreji - Ekla chalo re (walk alone).

The time is again asking to walk alone to fight the evils of corruption, poverty, illiteracy, terrorism, racial discriminations and so on. It would have been so much better, if we could have walked together for such things, but seems like always someone has to lead the way, as Netaji did it.

Don't think that these evils will vanish on their own from the globe, everyone of us has to walk alone and try changing things around.

Happy Independence day.

"Are we really independent, is the world free? Can we honestly say that India has attained freedom?"

English Translation

If they answer not to thy call walk alone,

Walk alone, thy walk alone,

If they are afraid and cower mutely facing the wall,

O thou of evil luck,
open thy mind and speak out alone.

If they turn away, and desert you when crossing the wilderness,
O thou of evil luck,
trample the thorns under thy tread,
and along the blood-lined track travel alone.

If they do not hold up the light when the night is troubled with storm,

O thou of evil luck,
with the thunder flame of pain

ignite thy own heart and let it burn alone.

Don't ask me

I don't know what could be title for these lines, I wrote on 6.10.2004. Well whatever, it can be, now the time has passed, so atleast 'Don't ask me' the proper title :-))

"I'm not begging you to like me.
I'm not really even asking you.
But, isn't it alright,
If I cherish that hope in my heart?
If I dream of just holding your hand?
It will hurt me - not you.

I'll try to keep my eyes from shining,
when they see you.
I promise,
I will not try not to smile a special smile,
When you say hello.

But, please,
Don't ask me,
Not to like you."
- Raj 'Akeyla'

Once upon a time ...

These are words, I wrote on 28.7.2004. Once upon a time ...

"Once upon a time, the delicate tenderness of her touch,
covered the empty loneliness of my hands.
Once upon a time, the breeze of her hairs,
caressed the empty loneliness of my hands.
Once upon a time ...

Once upon a time, the soft tenderness of her skin,
gave energy to the dying cells of my skin.
Once upon a time, the lovable presence of her skin,
brought glow to the dying cells of my skin.
Once upon a time ...

Once upon a time, the caring soul of hers,
brought life to the fading soul underneath my skin.
Once upon a time, the loving soul of hers,
brought love and life to the fading soul underneath my skin.

It was once upon a time, a long time ago,
I was alive from my body, mind and soul."

Is UN sleeping over Israel - Lebanon?

Nearly couple of weeks have gone by, and there seems to be no ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. Talks have been going on around the world, and also on blogs, as I write here, all seems to be in vain.

I wonder if UN is sleeping over it. What has now happened to the "peace loving" West? Do they always wished that something like this happens between Israel and Lebanon, or are they hoping that this should escalate into something more devastating? So many questions to be answered, I wish its not too late.

With UN being mute spectator over all this, it brings me to conclusion that UN along with West is in a way supporting the trouble in Middle East. They are just attending meetings, and maybe just clapping with glass of champagne in their hands. Pity UN.

What Ghalib, you are still sleeping? Wake up.

Ghalib and the world

"बाज़ीचा-ए-अत्फाल है दुनिया मेरे आगे,
होता है शब्-ओ-रोज़ तमाशा मेरे आगे "

Somewhere in the early 19th century, famous poet Mirza Ghalib felt "The world is like kids play ground, and he sees some play being acted everyday." Nearly two centuries have gone by and here we stand today at the dawn of 21st century, with Ghalib's words still holding the meaning intended. I feel that world is nothing more than a mere stage, and you can see the terrific shows like Iraq war, Israel war, bombings around the world, stupid reservation ideologies by GOI and the list goes to eternity. There are many school of thoughts and reasons for these. It appears to me that mostly every inequilibrium is caused by just one trying to belittle another, be it with words or actions. Truly said by Ghalib again:

"हर एक बात पे कहते हो तुम के 'तू क्या है' ?
तुमही कहो के य अंदाज़-ए-गुफ्तगू क्या है ?"

"ना शोले में ये करिश्मा ना बर्क में ये अदा,
कोई बताओ की वोह शोख-ए-तुंड-खू क्या है ? "
