2nd October is Lal Bahadur Shastri Birthday and negligence of it

Continuing with my previous post Ironical 2nd October 2006, I started to think more deeply into the fact.

And to my mind very annoying and disgusting thoughts about govt. of India, mostly Congress. As Congress has ruled us for more than 50 years now.

Today is Lal Bahadur Shastri's Birthday on 2nd October. He was the PM of India. Revolutionised the indian Agriculture sector. Gave Jai Jawan, Jai Kissan.

Why there is no single talk about him on this day in media? Why no national daily has publication about him? Not a single advt space containing his photograph and details, so that people can remember him. Just because he was never so much into Congress.

For Nehru, we have Children's day. Is there something similar for our President Abdul Kalam?? Will there be one. I doubt. He is greatest president India has ever had. But since he wasn't the chosen one from Congress, they had there own candidate against him. Kalam won't find a similar mention in the books, media and recognition.

Now take for example, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. On his birthday and death anniversary there would be lots n lots of publications in newspapers, on TV. He was good, but can't be greater than Shastri.

Take another Gandhi from the family, Mr. Sanjay Gandhi. He is never talked about in media. No publications on him. No one tries to appreciate his deeds. He brought planned cities into the country. Noida is a work from him. Just because he was not at all Congress man.

Take Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He has endlessly given so much to the country. He revolutionised the entire indian Telecom sector. Gave quadralateral highways. Brought IT and business into main streamline of govt. Gave india Nuclear power status. What we see today is mostly what Vajpayee govt did. He showed that what all can be achieved by just putting acts together.
And we know there won't be no single promotion about his work. I guess now I don't need to mention the reasons.

The point is that, why only Congress family leaders get recognition. Get space in newspapers. Time on TV media. Congress ruled and kept everyone in the dark from starting, and has never tried and attempted to bring true historical facts infront.

There are many reasons, why people like me are not aware of the history other than Congress history. Not because I haven't attempted to learn history. Well I never attempted to learn history, but then Congress based history filled my childhood history books so much, that I only know of is theirs. And even now, when I forget something, I'm again reminded of the same history by media. Still there is no attempt to bring story and history of other gems of India.

I really wonder how Indian citizens could have been fooled for so long by just Gandhi family. Ofcourse Mahatma Gandhi doesn't belongs to this family. He would have never thought that something like this would be done by Congress. Congress used the name of Gandhi to capture votebank. As one scene in Lage Raho Munnabhai says that children of Mahatma Gandhi are Indira Gandhi and so on. That is mostly what goes to the very unaware society of india.

I believe its time now to wake up, and start getting our own facts clear. And try to impart the complete and true information to others. Else Congress will keep playing the same old game of theirs "To be in power, its best to keep society illiterate and unaware". Feels like that we indians have given ruling authority to just one family. We had already started to see that one day Rahul Gandhi will become PM.

At last!! I found someon ewho really missed the absence of L B shastri name during all the celebrations. And someone who felt strongly about it. So many time i myself hav pondered over this that don't we give undue importance to Ghandhia & his role in Indian Freedom. I may respect Ghandi as an individual, as a philosopher but the much i respect him the much i hate him as a through bred politicin and statesman and perhaps the biggest diplomat, he must certainly have read Chanakya.

And a in recall a incident that occured on 2nd Oct, Monday(very insignificant to others but very sad to myself).I was at my fields and my advisor and his 11 year old son Sutej had also come to help me. Me and Sutej are often at great terms and we keep discussing most of things he watches or he read and he does ample of both, last year i had recited to him the story of ramayan and he rememberd it. I asked him Sutej whats special about today and he replied spontaneously " Ghandhi Jayanti"
, What else? , again came fast reply its 16th birthday of Radio FM, no where the kid rememberd Shastri ji and even on my telling him he did not know who that person was".

Sad was that, same story gets repeated for so many other heros of india that the list will be endless, have we been able to give due respect to Netaji rather we r busy with all the controversies on him, Bhagat singh is remembered , how much we praise azad, we talk of milton and tagore never of Premchand, Kabir, whats was his birthplace? so many we should but we dont! and somewhere i feel that fault lies not just with the ruling party, or anyone else , i feel its high time we indians should and for godssake stop expecting anything from them, the fault is ours how many of us really give these things a thought especially those of us who live here, hardly a handful, so lets start to changeourselves and slowly well find that world around us is changing

I am happy to see that facts are alive in some minds.
I have great respect for Shastri Ji. I have heared a lot of stories from My Grand Father (Freedom Fighter) about Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji and other freedom fighters. Shastri Ji was really a great personality. I am proud to let you know that Shastri has taught for two years in a Gurukul in our Town - Charthawal (U.P.).
I SALUTE to Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri and Mahatma Gandhi Ji on their Birthday "2nd October".

Hello Nikil. Nice to find a person who thinks on similar lines. On this very day, I was searching for something like this. After reading your article, I thought I too should do some act. Just leaving a comment is of no use. So lemme contribute something to this major factor. Let me atleast enlighten my friend circle and colleagues, and ask them to do the same. May be its a minuscule step. I feel its better than sitting idly and doing nothing.
Following is my personal mail id.
Pls drop me a mail.
Jai Jawan Jai Kisan

Friends,

Good discussion:) I am happy that there are people wo are not flowing with congress stream.

We have missed Sardar Patel, becuase of whom we see the structure of new "BHARAT".

One more point. We must not forget that Gandhi started his mission, when he was thrown out of the train. But before that he was living life of a Son of a rich father.
I respect him as a Mahatma but I hate him as a politician. All the decision he took on behalf of leaders or on behalf of Janta were proven wrong and even after 60 years of independence we are facing the concequences.

I agree, I am taking small step towards it. 2nd oct there is speech competition dedicate to bapu, My candidate will tribute to Shastri ji will may act as eye opener in crowd. In whole complete easy candidate will not mention his name -Shastri ji but address him as selfless leader, man of Principle and hits on his achievements.
We may not win the prize but increase awareness.
